Gahanna was founded in 1849, and runs along the Big Walnut Creek. The suburb of Gahanna is a centrally located, and is located very close to Columbus airport. There are many shopping amenities close by including Easton Town Center, and Polaris Fashion Place. In 2004 Gahanna started revitalizing downtown Gahanna, known as "Olde Gahanna", which has been renamed as "Creekside". Creekside consists of walking paths along the Big Walnut, paddle boating, dining, shopping, and plenty of community activities. Some of these activities include the Creekside Jazz and Blues Festival, Live music concerts, local brew festival, 5k events, and much more. Gahanna's schooling system offers seven elementary schools, three middle schools, and one highschool. Columbus Academy, and Gahanna Christian Academy are private schools located within Gahanna.
